Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Whitley County Community Foundation to inspire philanthropy, enrich community, and serve donors by creating an enduring source of charitable assets.
History of the Foundation
Where we've been. Where we're going.
In 1991, local community leaders shared a powerful vision. The understood the strength of endowed philanthropy and believed that through the creation of a local community foundation, endowment funds could be established and nurtured to meet the changing needs of our area.
Today we manage an endowed asset base of over $20 million. We use this asset base to award grants to local nonprofit organizations that provide a range of services throughout Whitley County. In 2008, the Community Foundation awarded $3 million in grants to local non-profits and charitable causes in our community.
